Local Fuel Distributor crowned best in country

Co. Durham based Fuel Distributor Par Petroleum, has become the very first winners of the title Depot of the Year by The Federation of Petroleum Suppliers. Par Petroleum are no strangers to success after winning Jet’s Circle of Excellence distributor award a record three times and they are now fast becoming a legend in the industry.
The award, presented as this year’s FPS conference in Telford, is based on the Federation’s Depot Certification program. Par Petroleum had to show that they are the leaders in their field, setting the highest of standards or making the biggest improvements in health and safety and other operating procedures.
Simon Roy-Toole, Operations Manager at Par was thrilled to accept the award:
“We signed up for the FPS Depot Certification Scheme and have found the advice and assistance offered to us second to none. We do everything we can to protect the environment and ourselves because we believe we have a duty to do so. Having our depot acknowledged in this way is a real added bonus and a great acknowledgement for the whole team who take so much time and care over everything they do.”
The Depot Certification Scheme was launched by FPS five years ago and is aimed at helping companies raise their operating standards. The audit itself equips distributors with a detailed report and insight into the requirements of a top class depot with exacting standards.

Companies have the responsibility to contribute to the improvement of standards and will therefore undoubtedly benefit from entering the award and therefore undergoing an FPS Depot Certification scheme audit.”
