As an apprentice at Par Petroleum, you will play a key role in our organisation as we plan the future development of our company.

Par Petroleum is a growing North East fuel distributor and Nationwide specialist haulier. Our growing fleet supplies fuel to homes, businesses and farms as well as transporting product in and out of refineries, ports and depots via a network of long-distance vehicles.

Current Apprenticeships

Apprentice Transport Planning Technician in the Dangerous Goods Transport Industry

This role will be based at our head office in County Durham within a fast paced transport environment working closely with the existing Operations Team.

 

performance objectives

  • Develop communication skills to adequately manage expectations of customers, colleagues and other stakeholders
  • Understand Road Transport and ADR legislation from an operational perspective and carry out the associated recording and reporting of key information necessary.
  • Develop IT skills necessary to utilise existing systems and help identify new ones to increase efficiency
  • Create, execute and manage daily fleet operation plans to ensure efficient routing, and optimal fit with customer needs to ensure we deliver excellence to our customers.

Training & Qualifications

The onsite practical work in the operations department will provide an overview of the business and industry which will then be complemented with wider topic classroom time undertaken during block release with our training partner.  The Level 3 BTEC Diploma will be undertaken over a 24-36 month period and will provide opportunities to tailor the content to the disciplines closer to the role.

Long term there are opportunities to continue training towards other established transport qualifications.
